“Throwback Thursday” Pic of the Week

Two titans of the conservative movement, President Ronald Reagan and National Review founder William F. Buckley, Jr, sharing a light moment in the White House Oval Office.

Check out their “Battle of the Titans” debate below as they surprisingly  squared off against each other on the issue of the Panama Canal Treaties in 1978.

Definitely “geeking” out here, but you can see the great debate with Reagan on the side of the US holding onto control of the Panama Canal and Buckley believing it was inherently the Panamanians due to national sovereignty – one of the rare times the two did not agree.
