George H.W. Bush, forty-first president of the United States (1989-1993), is the author of the memoir All the Best: My Life in Letters, a collection of speeches entitled Speaking of Freedom, and coauthor with Brent Scowcroft of the critically acclaimed 1998 book A World Transformed.

He and his wife, Barbara, live in Houston, Texas, and Kennebunkport, Maine. He is the father of George W. Bush, the forty-third president of the United States, and John Ellis “Jeb” Bush, the former governor of the state of Florida.
