Herb Romerstein was one of America’s best-known and most respected anti-communist authorities, regularly called to testify before Congress. He was a chief investigator for the House Committee on Internal Security in the 1970s, and he joined the Reagan administration in the 1980s to counter Soviet disinformation on a full-time basis.
Following his government service, he was the director of the Center for Security Research at the Education and Research Institute and worked at the Institute of World Politics.
A native of Brooklyn, Herb and his wife Pat had four children.
