**Exclusive CBC Author Interview with Sally Pipes**

Sally Pipes has been the President and CEO of the Pacific Research Institute since 1991. Prior to becoming president of PRI, she was Assistant Director of Canada’s Fraser Institute. She served as one of Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s four health care advisors in his bid for the Republican nomination for president in 2008. She also served on the Medical Advisory Council of Genworth Financial’s Long-Term Care Insurance Division in 2006, and currently serves on the national advisory board of Capital Research Center, the Advisory Board of the California Association of Scholars, and the State Policy Network president’s advisory council.

She is Chairman of the Benjamin Rush Institute and has served as a trustee of St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation in San Francisco, a board member of the Independent Women’s Forum, and as a governor of the Donner Canadian Foundation. She was also a member of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s transition team in 2003-04.

Ms. Pipes is a prominent figure in the media, addressing national and international audiences on health care issues, being interviewed on TV and radio shows, debating renowned figures, writing newspaper articles, and writing the bi-weekly health care column “Piping Up” for Forbes.comShe has written several books, including The Way Out of Obamacare (Encounter, forthcoming 2015), The Cure for Obamacare (Encounter), The Pipes Plan (Regnery), The Truth About Obamacare (Regnery), Miracle Cure: How to Solve America’s Health-Care Crisis and Why Canada Isn’t the Answer and The Top Ten Myths of American Health Care. 

She appeared in Michael Moore’s movie, “Sicko,” and the Fox News documentary “Live Free or Die: Obamacare in New Hampshire” hosted by Bret Baier. She has participated in public forums and debates, testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the Senate HELP Committee, before committees of the California and Oregon legislatures, and had more than 130 op-eds published on health care issues in 2015 alone. These include the Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Investors’ Business Daily, and the Detroit News, to name a few.

Ms. Pipes has received numerous awards, including her appointment as the Thomas W. Smith Fellow in Health Care Policy at PRI, Taube Fellow in Health Care Studies in 2010, the Roe Award in 2004, and the 3rd Annual Women Achievers’ Award, to name a few.
