In The Tempting of America, Robert Bork attacks the Warren court and its successors for reading liberal ideology into pre-existing laws.
But this isn’t anything new – judges have been unconstitutionally inserting their opinions into law since the beginning of America’s history. Bork argues that, instead, the law should be interpreted through the 18th-century lens of our founding fathers, and that powers not given to the federal government should instead be given to the states themselves.
