“Portraits of Courage” Paints Stories of American Veteran Heroes

Bestseller List is for week of March 9 – March 15, 2017 HERE

WASHINGTON, DC When it comes to the United States military, President Donald Trump has always been vocal in his support, now evidenced by his desire to increase defense spending by $54 billion dollars. Equally supportive of the troops, President George W. Bush continues to show his appreciation in a different way. In his new book, Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors, President Bush painted the portraits of over sixty members of the military, accompanying each portrait with his or her story of service.

President Bush is donating his net author proceeds to the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a non-profit organization whose Military Service Initiative works to ensure that post-9/11 veterans and their families make successful transitions to civilian life.

George W. Bush was the 43th President of the United States. He and his wife, Laura, now live in Dallas, where they founded the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University. President Bush is also the author of two number one bestsellers: Decision Points, his presidential memoir; and 41, a biography of his father, President George H.W. Bush.

“President Bush received so much criticism during his time in the White House and this book not only humanizes the veterans he highlights, but himself as well,” said Christopher Malagisi, Editor in Chief of the Conservative Book Club. “It doesn’t take a supporter of President Bush to be touched by this collection of stories and portraits.”
