Trump Asks Why We Had A Civil War — What Do You Think?

by Bradley Matthews

In an interview with The Washington Examiner, Pres. Trump said “I mean, had Andrew Jackson been a little later, you wouldn’t have had the Civil War. He was a very tough person, but he had a big heart… People don’t realize, you know, the Civil War — if you think about it, why? People don’t ask that question, but why was there a Civil War? Why could that one not have been worked out?”

The Civil War was really an unsuccessful War for Southern Independence, precipitated by the election of a Republican president. The Republicans were anti-slavery, pro-industrialization, and in general a threat to the southern way of life.

Lincoln wanted a more powerful, central Federal Gov. To get that power, he had to take it from the States. To accomplish this goal, he had to find a way to get rid of or several reduce the power of the States or States Rights. He had the Northern States, but the Southern States refused to give up their Rights. Also, the South was the economic center of the country. Even though, the North was more industrialized, the money was in the South. So, in order for him to achieve his goal, he had to goat the South into Rebellion. Well he succeeded. A total of 600,000 lives lost, both North and South and untold thousands of lives and the whole economic infrastructure of the South destroyed and for what? The Southern States had a Constitutional RIGHT to secede, and when the Southern people found that their rights were threatened, they did the only thing they could, THEY FOUGHT!! This played right into Lincoln’s hands. He knew that he had more men, more guns, more artillery, more ships, and more of just about everything to defeat the South. He didn’t give a damn about the Soldiers, and especially the slaves. His goal was power, and he didn’t give a damn about how many live or how much destruction he caused to get it. Since his election and the South’s lose, the States have been loosing their rights to the Federal Government. If you have doubts about what is stated here, go do the research. The Library of Congress is a good place to start. Don’t just look at the war years, go back to 1789, and start there.
