The 2016 election and Donald Trump’s victory was the culmination of Steve Bannon’s war on Hillary Clinton, so claims Joshua Green, author of the new book, Devil’s Bargain: Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, and the Storming of the Presidency. The instant New York Times Bestseller is a blatant attack on the one man in the White House no one can seem to get a grip on, or force out. Green contends that Bannon led a “vast right-wing conspiracy” to take down Hillary Clinton and install Donald Trump as the “avatar of a dark but powerful worldview.”
Full of rumors, innuendo, and hyperbole, it’s no wonder that the NYT put it at the top of its nonfiction bestseller list, despite outstanding performances from conservative books that same week, including Mark Levin’s Rediscovering Americanism, which sold more books last week according to BookScan – the nation’s leading bookselling data company.
Joshua Green is a correspondent for Bloomberg Businessweek and previously wrote for The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The Boston Globe, and Esquire.
“The Left is obsessed with the idea of Steve Bannon as some force of evil,” said Christopher Malagisi, editor in chief of the Conservative Book Club. “They simply can’t accept the fact that Donald Trump won fair and square and are looking for any way to disparage his administration.”
