12. The Reformation Is Coming to an End

While we are celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation in 2017, it is important to note that the Reformation as we know it is coming to an end. Just as the advent of modernity helped split Protestantism from the Catholic Church, so too has a newer modernity brought both sides back together.

As Wiker explains, the schism that created the Reformation was necessary, but in the half a millennium since then, Protestants and Catholics have come together again on many issues (especically abortion) and are united by their need to stand strong against opposing forces.
