Allen Drury

Allen Stuart Drury was a American novelist. He wrote the 1959 novel Advise and Consent, for which he won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1960.

Drury was born in Houston, Texas, grew up in Porterville, California, and studied at Stanford University. He served as a reporter for the Tulare Bee and the New York Times, worked as a Senate correspondent for UPI, and was a political correspondent for Reader’s Digest.

During his lifetime, he wrote 20 novels and 4 works of non-fiction.
