F. Clifton White

Frederick Clifton White, known as F. Clifton White, was an American political consultant and campaign manager for candidates of the Republican Party and the New York Conservative Party.

He is remembered as the moving force behind the Draft Goldwater Committee, which secured a majority of delegates to nominate U.S. Senator Barry M. Goldwater of Arizona as the Republican presidential candidate in 1964.

White grew up in Leonardsville, New York, and attended Colgate University. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. He taught political science at Ithaca College and Cornell University after the war. He was married to the former Gladys Bunnell from 1940 until his death in 1993, and the couple had two children.
