Florence King

Florence King is an American novelist, essayist and columnist.

While her early writings focused on the American South and those who live there, much of King’s later work has been published in National Review. Until her retirement in 2002, she wrote a entitled The Misanthrope’s Corner. She wrote another column, The Bent Pin, from 2006 until 2012.

A native of Washington, D.C., King received an undergraduate degree from American University and did graduate studies at the University of Mississippi.
