Betsy McCaughey, Ph.D. is a frequent guest on Fox News and CNBC, New York Times Bestselling author, health policy expert, patient advocate, and former Lt. Governor of New York.

In 1993, Dr. McCaughey (pronounced “McCoy”) read the 1,362 page Clinton health bill and made history when she warned Americans of the consequences of that bill. Her exposé won a National Magazine Award and led to her election as Lt. Governor.

A fierce advocate for patient rights, Dr. McCaughey is founder and Chairman of Reduce Infection Deaths (RID), a national campaign to support greater infection control in hospitals and other health care institutions.

Dr. McCaughey has taught constitutional history at Columbia University and Vassar College, and has held academic appointment in health policy at the Hudson Institute and the Manhattan Institute.

She is a syndicated columnist and has written hundreds of articles for publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Modern Healthcare, the New Republic, and has received numerous awards for her writing. She is a frequent guest host of the Laura Ingraham Show and has been featured on ABC’s Good Morning America, the CBS Morning Show, 20/20, among many other national television and radio programs.
