It seems everything is offensive anymore. All these people complaining about a football team that’s been around for years need to focus on a more serious agenda. We can thank our college and university professors for this. The professors need to keep to the lesson at hand and quit focusing on politically correctness.

Such acts are part of being human, every group has someone they pick on. It’s wrong to try to change human nature. Posted by a honky, cracker, red neck.

Bull shick! Growing up as an Apache child in this culture in the 60s & 70s & on til today this pick & choose racism horse crap is a joke. I know what it means being called a redskin along with several dozen other race baiting slogans that have offended my friends & family and the People in general. They don’t even use the other ethnicity’s full words, N word? really. How bout calling them the wetbacks? maybe the chinks? beaners? Yeah right. Not gonna happen. Steal an entire country, steal our history and keep trying to destroy our being. Nope, we never give up being who we are, and have been for the 7,000 years before you all showed up.

When an individual or a group (company) names a team, whether it be professional or amateur, they choose something or someone that they are impressed with, that inspires them to succeed. When Washington named their team “the Redskins”, I would think that they chose that name because of the strength of the Indian nations in general. Their endurance and their never say die attitude;, just what a sports team to compete, to last against all other teams. That speaks to me of great respect and care of choice, certainly not disrespect or prejudice or racism.

No – but what isn’t “racist” these days. Here we are in 2017 and some of these people act like we’re back in the days of plantations and slavery. Go figure!

I am part Cherokee and part Blackfoot. I am not offended by Redskins or Indian. The only ones who are offended by the names are the Democratic Party. I believe it’s due to the fact of what they did to my Ancestors. The Trails of Tears was done by the Democratic Party. Now they are trying to make it up to us. Just like the way they are trying to make up to all of the people they persicuted.

I am part Cherokee and I have never been offended by the name Redskins!!! I am however very offended by Elizabeth Warren calling herself one!!! If she really is of American Indian descent then she is a total disgrace to two races!!!

When I attended/graduated from the University of Oklahoma from 1960-66, I was in the dorm lunch line one day. As I got up to the servers, one of the serving ladies behind the serving counter asked me, “From what tribe are you?” I quickly said, “Comanche!” She then said, “Oh, I’m Apache!” I swear, if she wasn’t on the other side of the serving counter she would have hugged me as she was so thrilled to meet another (so she thought) American Indian (that’s what we called Native Americans in the 1960s). I probably would have confused her if I said that I was from the Ajapaho tribe (you know, Arapaho tribe) or I was a Yellowfeet (you know, Blackfeet tribe). At any rate, if my looks could fool an Apache Indian, I could fool anyone. That was one of the bright moments during my beloved stay at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, back in the caveman days.

What would Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren of Massachusetts consider it? She’s a redskin, isn’t she? She was out in the sun too long one day and had a bad sunburn. She looked at her skin in the mirror and sand, “I am a redskin!” The rest is history. And so, we may have a redskin running for POTUS in 2020. We will call her Pocahontas the Potus.

You can call me Yellowskin all day long, and I won’t consider it racist.

A skin color or tribal origin do not a ‘race’ make. Even if some horrible act in history were brought to mind by the term it still fails to be prejudicial. To my knowledge no one has ever properly explained the ‘racist’ aspect of this old term. Just how does it inspire hate?

This country is totally being run by the minority instead of the majority. It seems whoever yells the longest and loudest will eventually get what they want. I am SICK of this madness.

in no way is this racist, if it were then any use of native American Indian names would have to be declared racist which is totally ridiculous.
