About Conservative Book Club

For more than 50 years, the Conservative Book Club has guided book lovers to the best conservative books and authors of our times. While the mainstream media tends to celebrate only books from the Left, the Conservative Book Club has provided a much-needed resource for readers interested in conservative politics and conservative values. CBC remains the guiding light for conservative book lovers today. And in its new digital iteration, the Conservative Book Club welcomes new and old friends alike to discover the profound pleasure of great conservative books.  CBC is a division of Salem Media Group.

To read an in depth history of the Conservative Book Club, please read this beautiful tribute from The Daily Signal, written by Lee Edwards, the Distinguished Scholar of Conservative Thought at The Heritage Foundation, along with his wife, Anne Edwards, who was the first employee of the Conservative Book Club back in 1964.

Letter from the Editor

Dear Conservative Reader,

I’m excited to announce the relaunch of the Conservative Book Club (CBC)!  We want to welcome back our loyal members and new visitors as we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year! The CBC continues to be your trusted one-stop-shop for reliable conservative books and authors.

After a brief hiatus the CBC is back to bring you a new and improved user experience. Our new site will allow you to create your own conservative bookshelf, rate books, post comments, and share your favorite books with your friends. Think of CBC as your or Goodreads for conservative books and authors!

All of this is for FREE! Yes, you read that correctly. No more buying four books to get some books free, etc. There is NO cost to join the new CBC and no commitment for future book ordering, as being a website registered user is free!

  • Browse through our new book and author directory with over 900 books, 600 authors, and 550 book reviews!

BOOK REVIEWS (Note: It may take a minute to load this page your first visit, or if you clear your cache)

  • Read through our original written and aggregated book reviews of your favorite conservative books, including new releases and bestsellers! While the mainstream media often ignores or attacks conservative-themed books, the CBC will provide fair and thoughtful reviews.

  • Check out what your favorite authors are saying on air! CBC brings you the latest video, audio, and print interviews by conservative authors we track — and we have over 500 authors in our database!

  • Are you fed up with politically-correct bestseller lists? At last, here is a bestseller list just for you! Our Weekly Conservative Bestseller List tells you what’s hot, what’s rising, and what’s got staying power in the world of conservative books.

  • Make sure you never miss a new conservative book! As a CBC member, you’ll be alerted to new releases. We also go behind the scenes to bring you advance news and previews of upcoming conservative books, before they hit the shelves!

  • Every week, the CBC will highlight one book as our Editor’s Pick. We sift through all books to find worthy recommendations to answer the age-old question of book lovers everywhere: “What should I read next?”

  • Discover the classic books that shaped the conservative movement and inspired a generation of thought-leaders. We’ll highlight the books that made a difference then and now — books that still resonate for all those who cherish liberty.

For more than 50 years, the Conservative Book Club has been your trusted source for conservative books, authors, news, and reviews. As the CBC helped make names like Buckley, Friedman, Hayek, and Kirk household names, our goal is to continue that great legacy with new generations of conservative book lovers, just like you.
