The American people are about to fire them by not attending their games. The NFL is about to bleed money. I know wealthy people who have vowed to never attend another football game until players stop protesting during the National Anthem. They’ll be attending Nascar from here on out. Nascar made a wonderful statement a few days ago. I will be going to Nascar. Fox Sports should drop football for Nascar. Nascar forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the NFL is in the publicly funded stadiums we the people paid for they best show respect for the country. They should find a better way and another place to protest. We pay for football not disrespect!!! I do not oppose peaceful protest but the protest should address the issues in questions, not the country as a whole.

    September 27, 2017,1:08 pm

Thinking that the NFL players are protesting the flag is like thinking Rosa Parks was protesting public transportation .

When you oppose peaceful protest you also oppose our Constitution .

    Yes there still is discrimination.

If only the people had worn the other Uniform they would understand exactly what respect and standing means when hearing our ANTHEM . Our boys and girls have died fighting the good fight since the Cival War . They make nothing compared to outrageous salaries to run jump and catch a ball while soldiers run jump to avoid being killed .
Yes YES THEY SHOULD Be FIRED AND SENT AS OBSERVERS TO THE WAR FOR A MONTH .

Give me ONE example of Black Oppression in America today! I can show you oppressed Christians, Conservatives, and Gun Owners, but I can’t find a single Black person that is being oppressed based on their race. How DARE these “Men” who are paid millions a year for playing a game, disrespect the only country on earth where they can DO that! Go to Venezuela and see how you like it THERE, because your infantile behavior is driving us to Socialism and NO ONE survives under Socialism. Grow UP.

Karen, it’s been reported (per FB crime statistics) that far more whites than blacks wind up being shot/killed. That being the case, black citizen protests which too often degenerate into massive violence, have no legitimate rational/ basis for the protest.

    September 26, 2017,9:33 pm

  16. Alan Nevling

What do these arrogant jerks really think they’re accomplishing with their temper tantrums?
Nothing of substance. Since it’s already NFL policy that players may not alter their uniforms in any way but what’s permitted by terms of their NFL contracts, the answer is simple. NFL authority is already there to lay down the law. If the NFL head honchos had the courage of their convictions or cared to depend on the legal authority they already hold, this situation would have already been resolved. Bunch of wimps all around. Disgraceful !!

I’m with Judy and Pedro, I’m black and think if you cannot stand and salute the USA flag, then you need to move over next door with rocketman. Fine them 50k every time, we’ll see how quick they change their mind. Or better yet, all you obama lovers, move to a little island in the Pacific and let rocketman shoot missiles over your heads. I recommend that these overstuffed millionaires who got where they are only because of the opportunities furnished by the one entity whom they are trashing – the USA.- be ‘drafted’ into the Army – transferred overseas for 1 month – get a taste of who real Americans are – and then bring their sorry asses back to the USA and hopefully just a bit, a little light lights up, and maybe they just might appreciate our men & women who serve their country proudly, and that their confused minds just might appreciate what they are is only because of the USA – God Bless America !!!

The NFL Players are millionaires because of working people like you and I. If we stage a fan’s strike and boycott the NFL maybe those whiny little brats will have a different viewpoint along with their billionaire owners. My father always said they provide no real value to the country, only entertainment. Boycott the NFL and maybe those brats will have to learn how to earn a living actually doing some honest work…like the rest of us.

Are you kidding me? Why does this matter? Because Trump says so? This president needs to be focused on foreign policy, the military, the economy, and helping the American people; NOT whether an NFL player stands at attention for the national anthem. The national anthem is a symbol, just like the historical statues are symbols and yet people, including Trump want to tear them down. Sorry people, history happened. It can’t be changed just because it’s ugly. Learn from it. And for God’s sake, get over it. Focus on now. If America intends to continue to be a world power, then get a grip and put pressure on Trump regarding what’s important. Otherwise, shut up. You’re not helping.

Everyone that took a knee should pay 50% of their salary to improve the communities they are protesting to be treated better and they should have to spend 50% of their free time working with these young people to improve their
employment capability(attitude) The players and two of the youth should have to take programs concerning how to be respectable and show respect!!!!!!! If they want to make a difference get on their knees cleaning up these communities. Ride with the policemen and go through police training and work 6 months with the police they think are so bad. Put their knees in the police pants, walk their walk, then come back and share with the fans what they learned by this kind of protest where they do not get so much attention and really have to take some action. How many would take a knee if this was required???????????????????

I will continue to watch the NFL and support their right to peacefully protest. I don’t think that someone who is supposed to be the leader of the greatest country in the world should not be dividing the country like he is. You have to be so isolated from what is happening in our country if you can’t see the discrimination that is taking place in our country, including violence and murder of non-whites. The protest that took place where the alt-right were very public about their views on people because of their skin color is an example of how many people do not believe in equal rights. I guess I don’t understand why just because I happen to be a white person, my life and liberty is worth more than someone who is not white. I did not vote for trump and don’t agree with the way he lies and disgraces our country to other world leaders. He is supposed to be president of all of the people, not just the white, wealthy. I know that I will be accused of being just a lefty, but I have voted for republican candidates until I felt that I would continue to lose rights and freedoms if I continue to vote republican. I will probably always stand for the flag of our country because I feel like that is a freedom of speech for me, but I will never try to take away anyone’s right to express their views. This is America and freedom is what makes us the greatest country in the world. If we start trying to take away one freedom, we all lose. You have a right to watch or not watch, but you don’t have the right to tell anyone else how they can or cannot express their views with peaceful protest.

Yes, fire them. The NFL is a business and you don’t display your personal opinions and behaviors in the workplace. There are plenty of other venues for these players to make their opinions known.

    September 26, 2017,3:13 pm

  34. Henry

    No, don’t fire them
The person said that they are poorly educated should be shame of them self
The flag stands for freedom & the right speak your mind

We as Americans should be proud to stand up and respect the greatest country in the world the USA

  35. W Seger

Not surprising that these poorly educated – unskilled individuals – who disrespect everything – and are grossly overpaid (they think they are rock star/heroes) follow the lead of other bitter “players” to get more attention. When you start out with no marketable skills, and get paid for “banging your head for a living” no other result could be imagined… I, like most all hard working AMERICANS, are thankful for all the OPPORTUNITIES given to us….. and we RESPECT THE FLAG AND WHAT IT STANDS FOR…. President Trump is correct … those disrespecting AMERICA should be fired and forced to work for a living like the rest of us. NO MORE professional football for my family … sponsors take note… we MAY NOT support you either It is ALL about the $$$$$

    September 26, 2017,12:59 pm

  36. Bob Carter

The players should not be fired, but FINED $50,000 per occurrence. This is disrespectable to the flag and also to the NFL, which has gotten SOOO BIG it thinks it’s untouchable. If the players and “no gonads owners” want to protest, then do it on their own time. We do not want to pay hundreds of dollars to see a political statement from some over paid, undereducated jock who can’t even speak a full sentence with out “Duh, Huh, Ya’ know, Well” being every other word. This is not to say every player is like this, but certainly the majority are and that is just what Trump was implying when he called them “thugs”.
I’ve had it with the NFL, the management, the owners and the sports media, especially ESPN. They are all giving these overpaid crybabies a pass. Which is probably what most of them got in school, because they could play ball and brought money into the schools cashbox.

    September 26, 2017,12:40 pm

  37. Glenn Fieber

The NFL needs to to inform their million dollar players that they wouldn’t be making millions in Russia. All these multi millionaires whatever color they are can speak their minds freely outside the stadiums. We don’t want to see politics on Sunday Monday or Thursday’s. We want football and only football thank you. If they don’t like it fire them immediately.

Where does these players of the NFL or any other sports association or league, of this United States of America think they get the freedoms that they have?
Many of these players never served in the armed services of this Nation.
It was because of the great men and women that fought and served even died to give us the right of the freedoms we have, it about loving your neighbor, its about patriotism, the National Anthem, standing to salute the Flag of our Great Nation.
This is not about racist infidelity wars between people of diverse color and even their own.
The NFL is making a big mistake by supporting these ideas, because the NFL pays their organization/ players by the support of the masses of watching people.
All I hear is, THIS IS NOT ABOUT PATRIOTISM, well if this is true then, players, get yourselves out on the field, be men and stand tall, put your hand on your heart and show love and respect for the Flag for the ones that served and died to give you the freedoms you have.
I’m not saying you can’t peacefully assemble and protest, there is a time and a place for everything, and the field is not the place nor the time… Lord bless.

NFL & PATRIOTISM, whatโ€™s it all about?

Before a preseason game in 2016, NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick sat down, as opposed to the tradition of standing, during the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner”.

During a post-game interview, he explained his position stating, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.โ€
In the 49ers’ final 2016 preseason game on September 1, 2016, Kaepernick opted to kneel during the U.S. national anthem rather than sit as he did in their previous games.

The above represents the provenance of our current situation where some appear to reflect disrespect for our flag and the singing of our national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner.

The reason, as expressed by Mr. Kaepernick, is based upon what he characterizes as the oppression of people of color.

His perception appears to have its roots embedded in the shootings of some black men by white and black police officers. He doesnโ€™t appear to include in his โ€œthinkingโ€ that white men have been shot, as well.

Some of these shootings may have been justified and some may not have been justified.
The adjudications of these shootings may or may not have been correct.

There are approximately 330 million people inhabiting our nation.
Allow me to assume that there were 50 shootings, so far this year, and that all were not justified.
That reflects 1 ยฝ shootings per 10 million. Whereas any unjustified shooting is an abomination, one might think about the fact that there will, always, be anomalies.
Anyone who believes this or any nation is an example of perfection is incredibly confused.
Mr. Kaepernickโ€™s extrapolation from shootings to conclude that the United States of America oppresses people of color could be characterized as illogical and convoluted, at best.

Mr. Kaepernick was not and is not the problem. The problem appears to be due to the irresponsibility of Mr. John Lynch, the general manager of the San Francisco 49โ€™ers.
A football stadium is a place of work for football players and staff. As such, management establishes rules and protocols.

When Mr. Kaepernick first sat, the general manager should have established that all will show respect for the flag and the national anthem.

The 1st Amendment does not apply to the workplace.

The blame, for this ridiculousness, stupidity, and divisiveness, must be shared by the ownership of the 49โ€™ers and by Mr. Roger Goodell, the Commissioner of the NFL,

The media, especially CNN, with MSNBC a close second, has exacerbated this insanity by promoting racism as the major factor. Don Lemon said that โ€œtaking a knee is constitutionally protectedโ€. The producers and the legal department should have known that was incorrect and apparently meant to inflame this phenomenon.

The media is demonstrating that yellow journalism is an ugly tool that they will not hesitate to use.

Fair minded people of all ilks must be demonstrably outraged.

A rational solution to mitigate the damage done would be that Mr. Goodell and the ownership of the 49โ€™ers issue a joint statement apologizing to the nation for massively mishandling this matter.

This mishandling by the 49โ€™ers and the NFL leadership appears to be caused by a combination of ignorance and stupidity which can be reversed by a sincere mea culpa, whereas certain media cannot utilize that path due to their apparent agenda, bias, and vicious premeditated intentions.

Next time, I will offer greater clarity.

The FCC should be admonished to review this matter with great urgency, diligence, and sincerity.

    For Gary:
“Please, if you want to really see why the players are reacting as they are, it is not disloyalty but the overt actions of one man consumed with prejudice and hate. The Swamp he is. I would never ever disrespect our flag or country. But w re not built on what we see in DC. Cmon wake up. How can any self respecting human being be expected to accept one hateful action after another directed at people just as loyal and committed as YOU and me!!!”

Gary, just how stupid can you get? The Office of the President, elected by the people of the Nation, whether you like it or not, is to be respected. All you idiots can see is what your small knowledge of the Constitution and our Bill of Rights allows you to see but never comprehend.
When you disrespect the Office of the President, no matter who it is (even Obama?), you disrespect the Nation as a whole. If you had had even a basic Civics course in High School, you would know this and keep a civil tongue in your head and not keep making an ass out of yourself.
Just who the hell are you to pronounce judgement on the Highest Office of the Land with your asinine cliches. Surely you have a right to disagree but have no right to think your callous judgement is the supreme law of the land.
Civil Obedience and adherence to simple good manners, with a little humility thrown in for good measure, is what has kept this Republic from deteriorating into a complete demagoguery.
Get some education and a little modesty, Gary, before your fat head explodes.

The nfl has no place in politics as no one cares what nfl players political views are. They are paid to entertain us by playing football. I don’t even think they know what they are protesting against. This all started last year before President Trump even came into office. So how could they be protesting him? His face appears nowhere on the flag. This flag represents the people who have fought for our freedom and our country. To protest something on their own time and the right way is one thing but to have these extremely highly paid people pretend as though they have suffered for anything yet protest against the patriots who fought and REALLY did suffer and die so that we CAN have the opportunity to live in a free country is unbelievable. Perhaps if it’s so bad here, these clowns would like to try their luck in some other country. I would recommend North Korea. I’m sure these one kneed cowards won’t be going anywhere soon.

They, of all people, should realize the huge benefits they have derived from being a citizen of the USA. How do they repay the country and their own fans?; …… spitting in their faces with their blatant conceit and ignorance. I think that at least they should pay some sort of penalty for thumbing their noses at those patriots that have bled and died for their right to rake in the millions they get for throwing a football and playing a kids game. We the citizens of the USA should reward them and the NFL by boycotting all their games, and certainly not by acting as if they are some sort of hero. They are stupid Ass”0″s, every one of them. They could just not show up for the game, if they really wanted to make a statement.. but no, they have got to get right in the faces of every patriotic American.
Bye, bye, NFL. Take your little money grubbing group to the middle east and see how you can live high on the hog there.

The Ravens and Jaguars disgraced and embarrassed the US abroad beyond belief! They need their passports confiscated, their names put on a No Fly List and fined at least $10M. Embarrassing the US internationally as Americans is UNFORGIVABLE!!

they have a job and are at work—if I did that at work I would be fires. thats why we vote–you lose so get over it. I didn’t make all that noise when obama won–twice. I had to just work hard to vote someone in that loves America!!! Love America of move out of country

There should never be a public display demonstrating disrespect for the flag or during the national anthem by sports figures. Owners that side with players are also guilty of disrespect to the flag and country. They only do so to protect the revenue stream and fail to recognize the public is the real customer. The customer will eventually reject the NFL out of disgust. The message players and Owners are sending to the public of all ages is showing disrespect for the flag, the anthem, and our country is Okay, well IT IS NOT. Players should be fired, Owners accepting that behavior should not be rewarded with our loyalty and our support financial or otherwise. Boycotting the games will get their attention.

    DO IT!!!

    September 25, 2017,9:29 pm

  59. Sharon

You cannot push you agendas on others who do not agree with them! Should NFL players, coaches, and the commissioner continue allowances for these UnAmerican & UnPatriotic displays of disrespect your ratings will continue to fall lower & lower. We the people pay your salary by buying game tickets and tshirts and souvenirs and etc. Next, your sponsors will be boycotted and in turn will also loose our respect for sponsoring these UnAmerican & UnPatriotic displays of disrespect, they too will go broke. The only coach with any backbone is Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys coach!

    September 25, 2017,9:12 pm

  60. LeRoy Hayter

bill, you are one of the reasons that people have lost respect for this country , if you don’t like the United States you need to move to a different country & see how you like a change of location !!

    September 25, 2017,9:00 pm

  61. Char Romain

would like to see some BIG fines handed out , hit them where it hurts , will surely think twice about doing this if get fined enough. SICK OF THESE PLAYERS FORCING THERE OPINIONS ON US , LET THEM DO IT ON THERE OWN TIME, AMERICANS JUST WANT TO WATCH THE FOOTBALL.

    September 25, 2017,8:54 pm

  62. Tony Richey

They should be fined and benched. If the disrespect continues then they should be fired and not allowed to play anywhere else.

    September 25, 2017,8:18 pm

  63. Manny Gomez

They are embarrassing to this great country, even Hispanic Americans they still love and respect their country of origin, flag and national anthem even though they are already American. One will try to disrespect to Mexican flag or Puertorican and these people will skin you off alive. Everybody knows that.

    September 25, 2017,8:17 pm

  64. Bill

You CBC folk are amazing in your nonsensical positions. Compelled love of country is common — in North Korea.

We do not compel people to salute the flag, for doing so makes it a meaningless gesture. Like telling your spouse you love them just before you sneak out to cheat on them. If you force it, it is not real.

Is that something you cold-hearted, weak-brained CBC members can understand?

Yes they should be fired. These ball players are disrespectful to veterans, families, and widows across our country. Stand for America or your fans walk and dump your sponsors. Shameful behavior! If you are protesting oppression, share your millions.

these football players need to be fired. if they don’t like this country let them go somewhere else. i’m sure that canada. england, france, spain, or how about africa. after all how smart do you have to be to throw or kick a football anyway. anyone with half a brain could do it. only in america can people do such things and get away with it. their all over paid for the job they do. everyone ought to boycott the nfl and see if things don’t change. after all the field is their work place, see if other work places would put up with bs.

the First Amendment is about words, spoken and written. I agree Gravely disrespectful actions are not only against our flag and our national anthem, but disrespects and belittles the men and women who fought and died for our freedom.

    September 25, 2017,6:02 pm

  71. Gary

Folks I’m as much a lover of the US and flag and freedom as you. This is not about fisrespect or dislike for the US. This is about the active embrace by DerDrumpf of racism which includes tacit acceptance of the supremes to movement. Actions speak. You’re tying this to love of country. It’s not. These players are as patriotic as you. What do we see from the guy who calls himself leader and tacitly or directly condones the actions leading up to an innocent girls death. Anti Semite? Racist? This is absolutely killing America and we’re the laughingstock of the world. With Russia, Korea, etc issues all originating from the actions of this man, please realize this is not about disloyalty or being a traitor. Look at the man behind we call leader who violated every rule of decency and love for millions who he tellshell make America Great again. Please, if you want to really see why the players are reacting as they are, it is not disloyalty but the overt actions of one man consumed with prejudice and hate. The Swamp he is. I would never ever disrespect our flag or country. But w re not built on what we see in DC. Cmon wake up. How can any self respecting human being be expected to accept one hateful action after another directed at people just as loyal and committed as YOU and me!!!

    September 25, 2017,5:59 pm

  72. Ceasar Gabriel

They should be fired if the contract they signed indicates they can’t protest in the workplace. BTW 1st amendment does not protect free speech in workplace.

    September 25, 2017,5:56 pm

USA! Love it or leave it ! See how your life will improve if u move to Cuba! Or Mexico! Employers must stand up & remind them why they have a job!

There were no pro sports in 1776; not essential for ensuring our Constitutional Rights. Every citizen should stand during the National Anthem unless physically unable.

    September 25, 2017,5:47 pm

  75. Fergus O'Reilly

YES. They are violating section 4, article 8, NFL RULES. OR, make them “volunteer” in VA Rehabiiltation Centers.

Yes they should be Fired and lose all that money, I have watched my last nfl game , bought my last nfl product . Thank YOU NASCAR for saying STAND or be FIRED. GOD BLESS AMERICA Donald T.

  78. Carol sistaro

Now now Bill, we all know what Daniel means. I noticed after posting that I spelled a couple of words wrong, I guess my spell check wasn’t working! Our emotions are writing for us and we all know what we all mean. If something is not spelled correctly I think it shows how passionate we are about our beliefs. Anyway, I say fire all NFL players who don’t stand for the anthem. Or, send them somewhere like Iran, Iraq, or Noko for a week and see if they come back…with a head

    September 25, 2017,5:40 pm

  79. Helen

Absolutely!! People are the only reasons they have jobs. Just like other celebrities. Except for some that have college degrees, if the public quit watching and buying tickets–they will be in food lines.

  80. Bill

A PS to Daniel Brown: Many of the comments here are loaded with errors. Has America stopped teaching English??? I do realize, Daniel, that what they’re trying to express and what you expressed is right on and right from the heart. I’m a 79 year old man from Alabama who was taught English in school. Fire the bastards!

    September 25, 2017,5:33 pm

  81. Bill

Daniel Brown, you will get more respect for your opinion if you improve your spelling. “Jerry Jones hates losing (not loosing) money.” “Cut your losses (not loses).” “You lose (not loose).” This note will make you mad but maybe you’ll learn from it.

NFL Rule Book Page A62-63 I believe is what someone posted states that players will stand for the National Anthem. That tells me that if it is in the rule book then it is a rule to be followed. If the rule is not followed then comes fines and firings without any sniveling about not getting what is stated in your contract for being a whinny little bitch.

    September 25, 2017,5:17 pm

  85. Delbert G Bryant

YES! Fire the miserable worthless sonsofbitches!

    September 25, 2017,5:13 pm

Give them one warning anf if they dont comply…fire them.

    September 25, 2017,5:09 pm

  87. William Aiello

Can’t make players respect the flag. But we can refuse to watch or go to games, boycott sponsors, refuse to buy products.

    September 25, 2017,5:07 pm

  88. Robbie Nichols

Well they are working for someone else. Somebody owns these teams, Not us, but we the fans, are the customers….so you would think in order to keep the customers happy (most Americans hate this disrespect of country/flag) that the owners would say” protest on your off time, not on my time”. I believe the owners needs to adjust their thinking. These games are a private business, on a private field…these owners have all the control they need, they just need some help in making the right decision. Pres. Trump was right.

    September 25, 2017,5:06 pm

i will no longer watch football! i used to love it,if other leagues do this i will not waste my time watching!

    September 25, 2017,5:03 pm

Yes fire them and boycott any GAME until these over paid ball players stand and respect our flag and country or send them to North Korea and let them disrespect rocket man and his flag and see what happens. Thank you president Trump

    September 25, 2017,5:03 pm

  91. Brooke

It’s mind boggling how entitled these big babies are. You don’t want to stand? Then don’t play and don’t accept the millions of dollars that you are paid for throwing around a ball. And while you’re at it, go find another country that will put up with your nonsense. Plain and simple.

    September 25, 2017,5:02 pm

  92. Carol sistaro

The NFL players that disrepset our anthem, our country, and our flag are the real “basket of deplorables” in our country. Shame shame shame on the Pittsburgh Steelers, especially their so called leader Rothlisberger or whatever his name is who totally DISTRSPECTED his teammate Alejandro Villanueva, for not standing with him!! SHAME SHAME SHAME. AND WHAT ARE THEY EVEN KNEELING FOR??!?!?! does anyone out there really even know????!

    September 25, 2017,5:00 pm

I’d love to see the stadium empty.
    Wouldn’t you?

they should b run out of town! spoiled brats

    September 25, 2017,4:59 pm

  95. Daniel Brown

Jerry Jones hates loosing money. All the other owners should feel the same way.
Fire that commissioner. All this crap will stop.
Boycott the networks that push the players to do this. This is the commissioners job. He’s not doing it.
The ones that will hurt the most is the owners .
All that money spent for crap.
    Bad investment.
    Cut your loses .
    Fire the bums.
Show the socialist teams what capitalism means. You put out a bad product. You loose .

    September 25, 2017,4:57 pm

  96. Dee

    Yes they should BE FIRED.
THEY ARE ALSO DISRESPECTING THE MEN AN WOMEN .WHO DIED TO KEEP THIS COUNTRY FREE.
    SHAME ON THEM
I PRAY AN HOPE.PEOPLE WILL STOP GOING TO THE FOOTBALL GAMES.
AND STOP WATCHING THEM ON T.V. ALSO.

    September 25, 2017,4:56 pm

  97. Terry

Lynn has a great idea, Keep the whole team OFF the field until after the game… in less all stand and place hands on their hearts in respect for the Great Star Spangled Banner, so many good American Citizens died protecting, both on American soil, and in foreign lands. These un-American Fools – disrespect the very nation that allows them such freedom – and that is unforgivable.

    September 25, 2017,4:54 pm

  98. Terry

Exercise your First Amendment Right on your own time, NOT your employers! Kudos to Zeke! These “college educated” athletes should have read their contracts and the NFL policy, before signing! REAP what you SOW!

    September 25, 2017,4:53 pm

  99. Sonja

FIRE THEM. YES. SEND THE THUGS BACK TO THE HOOD WHERE THEY BREED. WHAT AN INSULT TO OUR FLAG. THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP FOR TRYING DESPERATELY TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. ALL HE HAS DEMANDED IS FOR THE IDIOTS WITH THE BIG MUSCLES TO HONOR OUR FLAG. AMERICA PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE NFL. I STAND IN HONOR OF THE ONE XSERVICEMAN WHO CAME OUT AND STOOD ALONE TO HONOR OUR FLAG. AND THANK YOU TOM BRADY.

    September 25, 2017,4:52 pm

  100. Jane

Yes, fire them and cancel the season. Protest on your own time, but NOT at work and the NFL is a business so when they come out of the locker room, they are at work!. They are disrespecting our veterans, our country, and our flag.

    September 25, 2017,4:52 pm

  101. Terry Moore

    Absolutely!!

    September 25, 2017,4:51 pm

  102. Daniel Brown

Yes ,they should be fired. Along with the commissioner first. Then coaches then players.
You pay to see a game. Not a fundraiser.
It’s a sport. Boycott the nfl. Don’t feed the beast.
They don’t understand that the fans that goes sees them play is the ones family that is on the line fighting for that freedom. For them to make that kind of money.
Then please go to north Korea see how it is to play ball over there.
    From an EX steelers fan.
    God bless number 78.
The rest is cowards even Tomlin. Freaking bums
They all did get fired from me. No more money . Let the anti American liberals pay them.

    September 25, 2017,4:49 pm

  103. Kathleen Schooley

    Benched

    September 25, 2017,4:46 pm

  104. Terry

Maybe instead of firing the players, give them a choice. 1. Take a 5 game suspension. 2. Take a $50,000 fine for each occurrence. 3. Publicly apologize to their fans and America for disrespecting the nation that pays super sized paychecks, to watch a few dimwits show disrespect to Our Country.

    September 25, 2017,4:46 pm

  105. Charlotte

Skip the political B/S! Just CAN them. You show no respect, you get no respect! You don’t deserve my money. Go back to the hood. Your oppressed people are missing you there.

    September 25, 2017,4:44 pm

  106. Lynn

NOT FIRED but maybe the whole team should be kept in the locker room till after the National Anthem is over. Then these so called macho men can come running out on the field to get cheered rather than booed. These players are protesting the police who protect them and all people from bad people. They also are not showing respect for the service men and women who have given their lives to protect this country and give these players freedom to play their game and make millions of dollars. If they don’t like this country then they should go play football in another country. By kneeling they are not protesting Trump they are protesting police and military people.

    September 25, 2017,4:44 pm

  107. Jan

Standing for the anthem and crossing your haeart or saluting the flag has ZERO to do with race. It is a show of respect for those who have sacrificed their lives, emotional/ psychological & ohysical health to protect our freedom. That includes these little irreverent whippersnappers who have never cracked a history book but enjoy the freedom to earn gazillions of dollars by playing a childhood game. They think the world is all about them! NFL franchize owners and coaches are no different. They all need desperately to learn respect for other and for the greatest country who permits them to continue living in their arrested childhood development. I no longer find it amusing or entertaining to watch these children knock their brains out for money & ridicule our nation, our veterans, and our freedom. Maybe they should take their childhood games to Afghanistan.

    September 25, 2017,4:42 pm

  108. James Asher

NFL players that refuse to stand and respect our flag should definitely be fired. Also, if the owners do not have the guts to take action then football lovers should just boycott the games. Our service men and women work and many die serving our country and get paid nothing in comparison to what these spoiled ball players make. Race should have nothing to do with sports whatsoever. Everyone has a right to protest but never to show disrespect for our flag that millions have dies to defend.

    September 25, 2017,4:36 pm

  109. Darleen Danenhower

Disrespect of the country that pays these players obscenely extravagant salaries is evident of their stupidity and their goes.
Be like JJ Watt of Ho Texans: put his $$ where his heart is!
If these players are so offended why don’t they do something constructive like raise money’s for victims of whatever abuse they see?? But do it Monday-Saturday; play ball on Sundays.
We don’t care about their feelings re police, wars, Trump, porpoises, etal. Now, we don’t care about them or their owners who are only worried about upsetting their cash cows! Go to Iran, Cuba, Puerta Rica, to play your games to see how much they’ll get paid!
Yes, dismiss them. They don’t love us, they love the cameras! Odd no one was so offended 15, ten or five years ago!

    September 25, 2017,4:36 pm

  110. Zeke

Section 4 Article 8 of the NFL rules states: “Throughout the period on game-day that a player is visible to the stadium and television audience (including in pregame warm-ups, in the bench area, and during postgame interviews in the locker room or on the field), players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.”

That’s clearly stated. They have violated the League rules.

    September 25, 2017,4:34 pm

  111. Terry Parks

These players are being paid by George Soros. But his one world government will never be. He is 90 years old and won’t live to see it fail.

    September 25, 2017,4:33 pm

  112. Robin P2

I think its a disgrace not to stand for the national anthem. I personally think that we should boycott all games until they show respect to our country in which they live.

    September 25, 2017,4:33 pm

  113. Debra

The are all over paid sob’s!! Fire everyone who disrespects our country! Send them to N. Korea

    September 25, 2017,4:32 pm

These player are the raciest ones, Playing a game that pays them millions , While the real Hero’s are making a 10th of that salary they receive and are dying for their right to play.

NFL is a business organization and has the right to set it’s own standards and goals. Consumers come to ball games to see the game played NOT to see their flag and Country disrespected. I believe they should be warned not to make their hate and political statements. Violators should be dismissed!

    September 25, 2017,4:28 pm

  117. Jacqueline Ruelle

I’m all for free speech and they can protest (peacefully) all they want. The Football field is not the place, these guys are getting paid to play football and that is what the fans want, They don’t want politics shoved in their faces all the time. Football is as American as it gets and they need to respect that!!

    September 25, 2017,4:27 pm

  118. Sheila

All this kind of junk is being done in purpose. Just like black lives matter and antifa. Itโ€™s a George Soros, Barack Obama thing because they hate this country and what it stands for. They also want to force this junk on everybody, even going as far as using useful idiots like these football players, in the hopes that people will get used to this new norm to make it all the more easy to bring about the one world government. But the Almighty God donโ€™t sleep and they will have a price to pay for what they are doing!

    September 25, 2017,4:27 pm

  119. Bill Frazera

Sports is sports and politics is politics. They donโ€™t mix. People go to games to get away from stuff like that and take their mind off their day to day miseries. They want to watch them play ball…not insult their country. PLAY BALL DUMMIES. Practice your ignorant politics elsewhere.

    September 25, 2017,4:27 pm

  120. Betty Steele

Paul, while it is true that everyone in the United States of America, we have the freedom of speech as well as the freedom of expression, however we also have the responsibility to respect the laws of the land as well as perform our duties or jobs in our professions without being disrespectful. When members are disrespectful of their own country, they deserve to be fired on the spot.
You are correct, in this country, we do have the freedom of speech, and in the right/wrong circumstances it can get you fired, and rightly so.

    September 25, 2017,4:26 pm

  121. Jacqueline

Love it or leave! Disrespect for our flag and our country shows lack of respect for those who gave their lives for our beloved USA. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Disgusting behavior, for these Players to dishonor the Flag of the Country, that has made them rich. Don’t like America, then leave. Any Team or Sport who is involved in this, will be turned off-tuned out. I am in full support of our President on this issue, and think he was correct in calling them out.

    September 25, 2017,4:21 pm

They’re protesting something that doesn’t exist, that blacks are being persecuted in this country. The ones being persecuted are non-blacks by rampant black criminality and lawlessness,24/7. Fire them.

I am a Gulf War Era Veteran & come from a long line of veterans in my family. We along with every other servicemember swore or affirmed to defend the country AND the US Constituition which includes the 1st Amendment. You just can’t ignore that because you don’t agree with someone else’s excersize of it. That’s unAMERICAN in my humble opinion.

Furthermore my dad owned several small businesses. He really didn’t like it when the gov’t told him what to do. They took 1 of his restaurants for imminent domain for expanding the freeway. He said the gov’t was intinterferring. I really don’t understand how the president can interfer in a business & tell them who to hire & fire. Sounds like he is acting like he is a king or somsomething. In my humble opinion he ought not do that. Leave it alone.

I agree w Rob Edwards. Unfortunately this is a no win situation. The NFL are being used as Useful Idiots for other causes that are designed to take down America. For my part? Let’s stop making sports are new religion and get back into organizations that promote family. We’ll all be better off.

Absolutely not – in fact, those suggesting such behavior, need to be knocked about a bit, to properly understand what it means to be an American and live in America. Purposeful ignorance and hate, shown by all supporting the nonsense of 45, reflects no value in today’s society. Educate. STFU until having done so. And if still insistent on denying equal rights to all, stay silent until fate arrives at your door.

Actually, this is NOT a 1st Amendment right to hide behind. It is an issue between EMPLOYER and EMPLOYEE. If the Team Owner (employer) has a rule stating that all will stand (employees) then the employer has the right to dismiss those who disobey the rule. However, money is the real issue, and the owner’s do not have the intestinal fortitude to fire these players. BUT the owners must realize that although they ‘sign the paycheck’ the revenue is generated from the fan base. It appears to me that the owners should start taking into consideration the fans thoughts is on this…and quickly! <

Fire them and draft them so they know what our boys and girls are doing for our country and then they will appreciate our flag and respect it

Hit them in the pocketbook by not buying their products. If they cannot respect the great country we/they live in, then go to Mexico, it is close!! Try making the kind of money you are making here. Do you know what you are demonstrating to our younger generation–that it is OK to disrespect our flag and our country. Shame on you–aren’t there enough of these young people in jail because of the influence of other people who prey on young people. Don’t be one of these who wrongly influence our younger people. Think before you act–something my dad told me 80 years ago when we were taught love of country, family, God. Our boys were fighting WWII then, so we were proud of our country and what freedom means.

Will no longer watch the NFL games. I served our country and it really bothers me when someone disrespects our country. Especially rich jocks

It’s not a crime or violation but they should respect our flag and country. They should be required to take a history lesson and civics class.
There are other ways to express your views but this is not one of them. We should boycott gsmes and let the market make the decision for them. Once viewership is down and money dries up, that will determine their. Future!!

It is still a free country with freedom of speech (remember the first amendment?). Only right wing fascist morons like those posting below or Drumpf would suggest this.

It seems odd to me that the players do not have a problem earning tons of money from being in the USA, yet want to show blatant disrespect to our national anthem. If they do not appreciate our values, they can go to another country!
