Osama bin Laden started the War on Terror with the heinous attack all those years ago on 9/11; SEAL Team 6, and more specifically Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, ended bin Laden’s life.
O’Neill’s The Operator provides a look into what is perhaps America’s most well-known unit, and the mission that put them on the map. Although the titular focus is on that fateful raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan, O’Neill also explores the wider world of the Navy SEALs, from their intense elite training to the black humor and esprit d’corps that emerges after years of harrowing combat.
O’Neill also delves into some other famous missions he was involved in — from the attempted rescues of Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell to the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates.
