Bobby Jindal

Governor Bobby Jindal is the fifty-fifth governor of Louisiana.

Prior to serving as Governor, Jindal represented the first district of Louisiana in the 109th and 110th United States Congresses. While in Congress, Governor Jindal was elected Freshman Class President and served on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, the House Committee on Homeland Security, and the House Committee on Resources. He also served as Assistant Majority Whip.

Governor Jindal served as Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under President George Bush. Prior to his White House service Governor Jindal was appointed President of the University of Louisiana System, the 16th largest higher education system in the country.

Governor Jindal has also served as the Executive Director of the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare and was appointed Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH).

A graduate of Brown University and a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, Governor Jindal was a business consultant with McKinsey and Company before entering public service.

He was born in Baton Rouge to immigrant parents and still resides in Baton Rouge with his wife Supriya and their three children.
