ACA has totally ignored the working middle class. Past time for this to change.

Kimmel doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He will never have to deal with the problems the middle class have to deal with because of the ACA. His opinion is just that an opinion period!

He’s a liberal and as usual he is making a decision based upon feelings instead of thinking and logic. My wife’s insurance bill went from $3660/year POS with a $1500 deductible in 11/2014 to $6230/year POS with a $6400 deductible (basically catastrophic coverage) this year. She also had to change doctors. That means that President Obama wasn’t exactly telling the truth (i.e. he was lying through his teeth) when he told us we could keep our plan, keep our doctor and save $2500/year. Oh yeah, I forgot as a Democrat you say whatever you have to to get your bill passed and take care of us little people. She now has only one insurance carrier to pick from this year–who knows what her bill will be. That’s assuming that carrier doesn’t leave also. Then she won’t have any to pick from. Thanks for taking care of us little people President Obama!?

He is dead wrong! My healthcare went from $276/month to over $1000+/month under Obamacare! I don’t qualify for ‘Medicaid’ so me and my two elementary age children have to go without ANY healthcare! I can’t afford $1000 per month!! This is insane and UNamerican and UNfair to me and my two kids! We have been without any healthcare for years now which is a very scary place to be with two little boys! Legislation has to start somewhere, and now they have missed the Sept. 30 deadline due to senators like sell-out Sen. McCain who gets 1st class healthcare while I search the internet every time my kids get sick to try to find home remedies to treat them so I don’t have to go the doctor and pay out-of-pocket cash for our visit! This is INSANE! My story is not unique. There are a lot of us out there under the same oppression due to Obamacare staying in place!

He is absolutely right. Healthcare is the right of every American not just the wealthy. Nobody in this great country of ours should be denied healthcare because they can’t afford it. This bill is even worst than the last one the GOP tried and failed to pass. Why should the insurance companies and big pharma continue to get rich at the expense of people’s health and lives?!? That is obscene. America is the only first world country that does not provide affordable healthcare to all its citizens. It is shameful.

Democrats say ‘no’ and the Republicans say’ yes’. As far as I can tell they are all cut from the same block of wood. If all these countries have it figured out , then, why do all these people spend the equivalent of an operation to come to the USA for treatment. A known fact is when the government is in control, bureaucracy is in control. Let us see where the word bureaucracy comes from….hmm ….bureau. So as I can (in my limited knowledge) explain: a bureau with ten drawers and you forgot which holds the underclothes. You have five seconds to catch your ride or walk to work. Need I go further?
Existing conditions is a crap shoot for insurance companies and expensive for the simple fact of their long term. Now in ,say, England, they have it figured out.. They have single payer. You pay for peripherals. The Muslims don’t understand peripherals and riot when asked to pay. What do they care they don’t work and demand everything free. The other problem with the single payer is that taxes have to go up. Not even health care is free.
so, here we have Jimmie Kmmel and he is worried about who pays his sons health care when he can afford the insurance .

Jimmy Kimmel is a horse’s rear end. If he would actually read the bill, maybe he would have the right to gripe about it intelligently, but as a typical demoncrat, he is using only feelings and not the truth.

The comedian is out of jurisdiction in this matter and using his position for typical liberal attack in the political arena.

    Dear GrandsRising;
The devil is always in the details…yes, emergency services are required for anyone showing up in the ER, but that does not always translate to “treatment”. The facility is required to assess if there actually is a “medical emergency” which is not always easy to do for the doctors. Often “treatment” will be provided because the doctors cannot truly judge the severity of the situation (think: “chest pain”, is it a heart attack or an anxiety attack?) The doctors will usually err on the safe side and treat.
The program for children you speak of I think is the CHIP program. The eligibility for these programs per Medicaid.gov: Eligibility. “The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) serves uninsured children up to age 19 in families with incomes too high to qualify them for Medicaid. States have broad discretion in setting their income eligibility standards, and eligibility varies across states.”, so as can be seen here the qualifications are heavily determined by the individual state not the federal govt.

It is likely that Kimmel has employer sponsored health care. Some of the benefits of the ACA do directly impact his health plan (e.g. requirement to cover for preventive health, or to provide maternity care), but these are requirements placed on all healthcare plans. Yes, we are also indirectly paying for his insurance as a cost of doing business for his employer as it is for all employers.
I agree these bills are written in “legalese” and difficult for us non-lawyers to understand which is why we should be careful to choose our sources who interpret. Unfortunately most “talking heads” on TV and radio are not experts and are mostly interested in advancing their ratings, as many of our politicians are interested in advancing their own careers. We might look to the academic community and the non-profit community to start our vetting of these bills.

Kimmels an idiot! No one but Attorneys can make heads or tails about a Bill. I seriously doubt if Kimmel even has Obamacare as we have it!

  13. Jim

He is a typical Hollywood hypocrit. He wants to keep Obamacare because he knows all of us pay for his insurance. We can’t afford the cost.
He can use some of his mega millions to take care of his family. We don’t have mega millions.

Although, I can empathize with Jimmy Kimmel’s son’s situation, he is full of crap. He received his talking points from Crybaby Schumer. This is what the democrats do. They send out their morning talking points to the Democrats, Main Stream Media, and Hollywood elites. This is why they all use the same wording everyday. They are too stupid to even come up with their own vocabulary. They are petrified that their precious agenda of forcing communism on this country will be taken a step back if Obamacare is repealed. Saul Alinsky’s first demand was to take over the healthcare system. This was the democratic party’s whole underlying motive for everything that they do.

Let me express my outrage at John McCain’s jealousy over Trump’s presidency. He can fool other people about his motives, but he does not fool me. This is all about not letting Trump have a legislative victory. He is at death’s door and it is a shame that he is pulling this crap now.

I believe that Murkowsky and Collins are both closet democrats. The Republican party had better wise up to the manipulative tactics of the democratic party. I believe that they are running candidates disguised as Republicans.

The Republican party are feckless and get nothing done. The democrats are counting on this and laughing at them as we speak. They are hoping to take over the government in 2018.

  19. GrandsRising

Kimmel is wrong and here is why. First, medical providers are required to provide emergency services to everyone, regardless of insurance, income, ability to pay, or even citizenship. The law that requires this is EMTALA. Even a migraine headache is considered eligible as an emergency. Second, EVERY state has publicly funded (Medicaid type) programs for children who are severely disabled/medically fragile. Parental income is not counted in the eligibility determination. The reason for this is that these children often require extensive and very costly medical care and very few, even the very wealthy, could afford it. That is why it is funded collectively. These programs have been around for decades. As a society, we have said that it is important to us to take care of these children. Americans are very compassionate. Liberals wouldn’t be so miserable all the time if they would bother to learn the truth. Sadly, they prefer to live in offense and unhappiness.

Ugh….who cares what Jimmy Kimmel says anyway. They’re all just a bunch of liars! But as long as the bill defunds Planned Parenthood, then it’s good enough for me!

The trouble with the liberals is that they only listen to their side of any subject and make their decisions. Most of the time they are lies. It doesn’t matter how important or popular a person is, a lie is a lie. It is such a shame because it had made this country a completely different place than it was 10 years ago. If people would just read both sides of a story and then use their common sense, we would be much better off. All the names that the left uses on President Trump and other white people is ridiculous. Yes, there are a few racists, etc., but neither the President nor most white people are any of those names. There is no discussion with these people. Read the comment from John Lockwood. Look at all the name calling he does. Does he have any proof or does he do it because that is what he reads and listens to from the left. A truly sorry state of affairs.

What kind of deplorable would want to purposefully do that? 45 and his POS administration, is who. And those that support him, are worse than ISIS. Anti-American, in every aspect of their miserable existence. Valueless to society!!
