One particularly egregious way that Hamilton used “implied powers” was in the creation of the National Bank. The National Bank would become one of the most contentious issues of the early republic (before Pres. Jackson abolished it), allowed to exist despite the fact that it was blatantly unconstitutional.
This National Bank inhibited the fiscal rights of the individual states and was just yet another attempt for Hamilton and his cronies to give the federal government even more power.
