John O’Neill

John O'Neill

John O’Neill was in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971, earning two bronze stars for valor. While in the Navy, he served in Coastal Division 11 in Vietnam and took command of PCF 94, John Kerry’s Swift Boat, after Kerry’s departure. Outraged by Kerry’s anti-war slanders against his fellow veterans, O’Neill faced Kerry in a famous debate in the Dick Cavett Show in 1971 refuting Kerry’s accusations of rampant American war crimes in Vietnam.

In 1974, O’Neill clerked for Justice William Rehnquist at the U.S. Supreme Court. He has been practicing law in Houston, Texas for nearly 30 years.

O’Neill received his B.S. in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and his J.D. from the University of Texas, School of Law.
